VBS: Torre Fuerte, Iquitos

This past week, I organized a VBS for 100 children from the neighborhood of my church, Torre Fuerte, where we met from 3-6pm. The theme was I am God's Treasure, and each day the kids learned, through games, songs, puppets, clowns, stories, and manuel activities, how they are God's treasures: special, chosen, soldiers, champeons, and princes and princesses. It was a wonderful week--I loved preparing and performing (baby clown and Queen Esther) and teaching. The team was united and we all had a great time!

We were able to purchase all the craft materials and food necessary and remain within my $100 budget--to the penny. The last day the kids went on a treasure hunt, and the reward was an ice cream bar. When a teammate went to buy the ice cream, the store was out of the cheapest kind; but God had mercy and the boss gave us $90 worth of ice cream for $17! Amazing!
